Built Environment Meets Parliament

BEMP has become a key event annually for the construction sector to meet the Federal Government and engage in a dialogue on important issues in the built environment sector.

buildingSMART participated in Built Environment Meets Parliament (BEMP) second meeting, 2 Sept 2008, Canberra, where the combined effort of ASBEC, AIA, PCOA, GBCaus, ACEA and PIA successfully put forward to the Federal Government a suite of policy proposals on GHG reductions that can be achieved by the Construction sector.

Minister Kim Carr announced the creation of a Built Environment Industry Innovation Council (BEIIC) with its inaugral chairman Sue Holliday, and recently announced the remaining members covering a broad cross section of the industry.
